Yes, that's our story and we are sticking to it! This post was supposed be the introduction to our first ever "Girl's Just Want To Have Fun" event, but unfortunately, it's not gonna happen.
Instead, we want to pick your brains a little. When you think about getting together with your girlfriends and having fun, what comes to mind? We (the leadership team) are looking for all the ways you think fun happens. Are you game?
Please leave your very clever and creative ideas in a comment box below for a chance to win lunch for yourself and two friends at ZOE'S. There will be a random drawing for the prize on Friday, August 31, at 12:00 noon.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks for stopping by,
Suzanne
My idea of fun...Being outside, telling stories and eating smores by the campfire! Just me, my stick to cook with & good friends to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteLove ideas that fit the season! Come on Autumn :)
DeleteI bet you have picked a spot on your farm for just such an occasion. Who doesn't love S'mores?
Playing bunko with 12 or more ladies. You rotate around the tables so you get to chat, and laugh with everyone.
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun to me! I know of several others who enjoy games. I can imagine there will be a Bunko night in the future! Thanks for joining in. :)
DeleteI really like the idea of bunko! My once a month "fix" with my regular bunko group is absolutely a God send. We eat, talk, laugh, have fun, share praises and pray for needs. Food and Fun always win with me. I am also the outdoorsy type as I am very active. There are a lot of great ideas so far!
DeleteLooks like Bunko is definitely a favorite way for girls to have fun, Carina! I've been waiting to hear more from the let's get out and do something active crowd, too. I know there are lots of energetic, fit women out there! Thanks for joining in.
DeleteI love to get together once a month with my Bunko girls. We have a grand time and at the end of the night we take prayer request and pray for each other.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky girl you are to have a regular group to share the fun! I think it's safe to say Bunko is an easy favorite among us girls. Would you be up for helping plan a bunko night for a larger group, maybe in the foyer at church?
ReplyDeleteI love getting together for a meal...but the fun is the prepartion, cooking with friends and family. Afterwards the conversation around the table/tables draws us closer.
ReplyDeleteFood does tend to bring us together, doesn't it? It's hard to improve on a simple dinner party for enjoying quality time with friends. Thanks for checking in!
ReplyDeleteHow about a LVCC women's cruise???!!!
ReplyDeleteDian, you are thinking BIG FUN here! I can imagine the smile on your face and the sparkle in your eyes as you talk about it! Hang on to that thought... :)
DeleteDIAN & SUZANNE.... you are both up awfully early!
DeleteI will agree with all of the above so far (although I've never played Bunko) and add some crafting, scrapbook, recipe exchange parties, etc.
ReplyDeleteMe too, Sonja! I would love to spend a little time crafting together. I get so much inspiration seeing what styles other people favor. I'm always looking for healthy new recipes as well. Thanks for adding to the conversation!
DeleteWell...with my girlfriends, the best fun we have is just sitting at each others kitchen tables talking over life!! However, if you are looking for ideas for a group of gals who may or may not know each other very well, then I LOVE game nights (board or card games) or craft parties! Especially, if you can design one craft project and provide all the supplies for one small fee, an example would be painting a cross on a canvas, or doing a razorback painting.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I'm not sure how to log-in to this where my name shows up at the top....Natalie Manatt
Well, your name does appear at the top of your comment! So glad to hear from you, Natalie! Girls really do just want to have fun-in so many simple ways! I'm loving the craft ideas...
DeleteHi ... got this far! Finally ... Now what do I say? I look forward to this new way to connect. Email and facebook now a blog.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Sue!! So glad you clicked on "comments"! It's been a problem for many of us to find out how to do this. I love your willingness to persist. Now we can hear more from you-You know I thrive on your encouragment!
DeleteBeing the mommy of a toddler, I love to do girls night at a restaurant or someone's home where we can actually talk to each other instead of getting bits and pieces of conversation in between chasing our precious kiddos around :)
ReplyDeleteHi Wesley! So glad you joined in. If your name is drawn, can I go to lunch with you at Zoe's? heehee
DeleteI love hearing how so many of you are very comfortable just being together with your friends. No special events, needed, just some quality time. I think all of us can appreciate that.

ReplyDeleteI love getting together with the girls for cooking and baking. Also, I enjoy getting together for jewelry, make-up, clothing, and thirty-one parties! Only girls gathered around talking, eating great food and looking/buying girlie things.
All of those events are easy to gather around, Kathy. Thanks for joining in! What's a thirty-one party?
ReplyDeleteThirty-One is a faith based company started by a Christian lady a few years ago. They sell all different types of bags, purses, wallets, containers, insulated lunch bags, etc. All of these things can be monogrammed. Prices are very reasonable. One must attend a party and/or know someone who sells the product to place orders. I work with a lady at Oaklawn who recently started selling the products and I have already purchased 4 things!!!! LOVE the products and the parties are fun!

Thanks for the explanation! I'd love to see the merchandise.
DeleteI enjoy sharing Garvan Gardens with friends.
ReplyDeleteMe too, Melanie! So much beauty to enjoy-any time of the year. Thanks for joining in.
